Kacey attended my home birth and she was AMAZING. If you're having a baby, HIRE HER.

If you are pregnant and thinking about hiring a doula... DO IT! Labor and delivery is scary. Between the unknowns and the pain, it's easily the hardest thing I've ever done. Having the support and knowledge was such a great decision and it's been fun gaining a friend along the way!

I knew after my older two boys, I really wanted to avoid getting another epidural. I still wanted to be in the hospital in case there were complications. I definitely had nerves and doubts that I could do it, but my husband really pushed me to change my mindset all throughout my pregnancy. I decided to hire a doula-which we also had doubts about. We didn’t know if it would really be helpful or not. Well, it DEFINITELY was. Kacey was awesome and really helped bridge the gap between us and the nurses. She set up my room to make it not feel so much like a hospital. Her and my husband did so good at taking turns talking me through contractions, applying pressure, holding the heating pad, etc. I never got in the tub or shower. I always thought I would but in the moment it didn’t appeal to me. We walked laps and then it seemed like I did three phases of positions during contractions. Early on I was on my knees leaning over a ball. When they got more intense I stood and leaned on the bed. Then when they got very intense I was on my knees in the bed over the ball... Baby girl in all her glory was finally here. What a ride! I’m super thankful for my experience, the nurses, and especially my husband and Kacey. It’s an experience I’ll never forget and will always be one of my favorite memories.
